These terms cover your use of Vessel Studio, the desktop app, and this website, both operated by MCY Limited, a company registered in New Zealand ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

What Vessel Studio is

Vessel Studio is a desktop application for naval architects and yacht designers. It runs on your own computer. You bring your own Google Gemini API key, which stays on your device, and the app calls Google's Gemini API directly using that key to render your sketches, line drawings, and screenshots into illustrations and photorealistic images. We do not run a server that touches your projects or your renders.

Your account

You need an account to use Vessel Studio, created either in the app or on this website. You agree to give us an accurate email address and to keep your login secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think it's been compromised, tell us at support@vesselstudio.io and change your password.

Plans

Vessel Studio has a Free plan and a Pro plan, described on our pricing page. The Free plan has limits on render resolution and the number of active projects; Pro removes them. We'll tell you clearly before any feature that requires payment goes live, and payment terms will be set out at that point.

Your API key and Google's services

Rendering runs on a Google Gemini API key that you provide and control. Your use of that key, and any cost Google charges you for it, is between you and Google under Google's own terms. We are not a party to that agreement, we don't mark up or bill for Gemini usage, and we can't see or control what happens on Google's side of that call.

Your content

Your sketches, drawings, screenshots, and rendered images are yours. We never receive them, so we hold no license to them and make no claim on them. Vessel Studio itself — the application, its design, and its prompts and rendering logic — belongs to MCY Limited and is licensed to you for your own use, not sold.

Acceptable use

Use Vessel Studio for what it's built for. Don't use it to break the law, don't try to circumvent its licensing or account limits, and don't attempt to disrupt the app, this website, or the services they depend on.

No warranty

We build Vessel Studio carefully, but it's provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we don't guarantee the output of Google's Gemini API, which we don't control. Sign-in and account services depend on our authentication provider, Supabase, and may occasionally be unavailable.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, MCY Limited is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Vessel Studio, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or NZD 100 if you're on the Free plan.

Ending your account

You can stop using Vessel Studio and delete your account at any time by writing to support@vesselstudio.io. Deleting your account removes your email and plan record from our side; your local projects are untouched, since they were never on our servers. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms or the app itself as Vessel Studio grows. We'll update the date at the top of this page, and for changes that materially affect you, we'll email account holders.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
